PD Dr. Dr. Physician, dentist, maxillofacial surgeon, and graduate in health economics. Research associate at the Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Mainz (Germany) and head of the Implantology and Augmentation Surgery section. Research focus on implantology/implant surfaces, tissue engineering, biomaterials, and tumor prevention. Since 2017 the lead author of the ITI Consensus Conference on the use of reduced-diameter dental implants and guidelines officer for the German Society of Implantology (DGI e.V.). Elected member of the ITI (ITI Fellow) since 2019 and a board member of the DGI regional association in Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany. Key role in updating the S3 guidelines “Implant treatment for oral rehabilitation in connection with head and neck radiation” (2013-15) and “Antiresorptive-associated jaw necrosis” (since 2015). Science Award from the German Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2019.
